General

The Cashmere (Bengal Semilonghair) is a very sturdy cat with a sleek, muscular build and a massive head.

Body

The medium to large sized cat is muscular and elongated.

The legs are of medium length, muscular and solid. The paws are large and round.

Tail The tail is of medium length and thick, with a rounded tail tip. The tail hair should be long and voluminous.
Allowance for shorter tail hair
at kittens.
Head

Massive head, slightly longer than broad, with rounded contours and with a solid, broad muzzle zone.

The noseline is slightly convex.

The neck is solid and long.

Ears The ears are small to medium sized and slightly tilted forwards, with rounded tips and a thumb print.
Set
as much on side as top of head, following the contour of the face in the frontal view, and pointing forward in the profile view.
Eyes Large and oval. They are wide set and at a slight slant.

Cashmere: All colours are permitted, except blue and aquamarine.

Cashmere pointed: The eye colour is an intense, pure blue.
Coat The coat is medium to long in length lying close to the body. The texture is dense, unusually soft and silky to the touch.

Allowance for slightly shorter coat at kittens.
Colour varieties Brown (Cashmere) or seal (Cashmere pointed) on a golden-orange base colour with clear, very well contrasted patterns.

There are two patterns in brown recognized:
spotted, rosettes are preferred
marbled (classic)


Cashmere pointed:
Seal coloured points. The body is slightly lighter, but is - in contrast to other pointed cats - slightly coloured in the corresponding point-colour and has a distinct pattern.
The cat does not look like a pointed cat to a layperson.

Seal sepia spotted tabby
Seal sepia marbled tabby
Seal mink spotted tabby
Seal mink marbled tabby

Faults
  • body too heavy built

  •  elongated spots, which are arranged in a mackerel pattern

Faults that exclude the certificate
  • belly not patterned

Disqualification
  • white patches
