Body | The body is medium sized, muscular and relatively short, but yet slender and elegant. |

Ears | The ears are medium sized with rounded tips, set high on the head and upright. |

Eyes | The eyes are large, oval and slanted. They are set wide apart (at least one eye width between the eyes). Eye colour corresponds with the coat colour. |

Coat | The coat is of medium length, soft, silky and dense. It covers the entire body and tail in loose waves and ripples. The special feature of this breed is the striking elasticity of the wave. |

Colour varieties | The colours chocolate and cinnamon, as well as their dilution (lilac and fawn) are not recognized in any combinations (bicolour, tricolour, tabby), also not the Burmese-factor and Abyssinian ticking. All other colours and patterns are recognized. Any amount of white is permitted. The description of colours is listed in the general list of colours. |

Remarks | Black-Tabbies display – besides the typical marking of the nose leather and the "M" on the forehead - a brown or golden colour tone without pattern on the body. |
